Meet Dr. Sarah Vedeler
Certified Zentangle Teacher

Since I was a young girl, I’ve been enchanted by the act of making — from sewing and knitting to origami and crafting tiny boxes. Creativity has always been my playground, my refuge, and my passion.
Over the last two decades, I’ve channeled that passion into designing quilts, machine embroidery appliqué, and “quilting in the hoop” patterns, sharing them with thousands of makers around the world. Somewhere along the way, I discovered that my true superpower isn’t just creating beautiful designs — it’s igniting creativity in others.
There’s nothing more fulfilling than watching someone light up with confidence as they create something beautiful with their own two hands. Whether they’re seasoned artists or complete beginners, I love helping people remember that they are creative — and that creativity is transformative.
In true nerdy-beautiful fashion, I mash up my PhD in Theoretical Computer Science and career as a software engineer with a deep love of color, design, and soulful expression.
My work has been featured on Quilting Arts TV, TheQuiltShow.com, McCall’s Quilting, Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting, and at international events like Carrefour Européen du Patchwork.
And now — as a Certified Zentangle Teacher — I’m excited to share this gentle, magical drawing method that turns stress into peace, perfectionism into presence, and quiet moments into masterpieces of mindfulness.
